Use ISIN as the default identifier for each portfolio constituent

Whilst some investments show up with an easily recognisable code (eg ERNS), others have no such code and instead appear with an unfamiliar identifier ( eg 0P000185SZ.L for Vanguard Global Equity Income Acc, rather than its ISIN: GB00BZ82ZW98), which makes it difficult to track investments and dividends when cross-checking these with your broker account(s). Can ISIN be used as the default identifier, rather than these less familiar codes?
