Please add two distinct and powerful capabilities to the platform's target allocation and rebalancing suite:
Request 1: Nested Sub-Category Target Allocations
The Problem: Currently, the platform supports broad top-level category or asset-class targets, but lacks the ability to assign percentage-based targets to individual holdings within those categories.
How It Would Work: Allow users to establish multi-tier hierarchies—such as setting a top-level cap for an entire sector (e.g., Semiconductors at 30% of total portfolio value) and then defining specific percentage targets for individual stocks within that sleeve (e.g., 40% NVDA, 30% AMD, 30% INTC relative to that 30% sleeve). The rebalancing engine should flag drift and generate trades when individual assets deviate from these sub-allocation targets.
Request 2: ETF Look-Through Toggle for Allocation and Rebalancing Enforcement
The Problem: Currently, rebalancing engines treat direct stock ownership and ETF holdings in silos. If a user holds a sector ETF (like SMH) alongside individual stocks within that same sector (like direct shares of NVDA), the system cannot evaluate or enforce target caps against their combined exposure.
How It Would Work: Add an explicit on/off toggle within the allocation settings to "Include ETF Look-Through Exposure in Target Calculations." When toggled on, the platform utilizes the X-Ray look-through engine to calculate a user's total aggregate exposure to a specific stock (combining direct shares with proportional look-through weights from held ETFs like SMH). The rebalancing engine then calculates drift and trade requirements based on this true combined total, ensuring individual asset caps are strictly maintained without accidental over-concentration.
Implementing both features will bridge the gap between high-level asset allocation and precise, institutional-grade equity portfolio management.
