MaxLinear, Inc.

🧾 Earnings Recap – Q2 2026

MaxLinear's shares dropped 17.5% after the print, reflecting investor disappointment primarily with the cautious outlook for near-term margins and profit growth despite strong top-line acceleration.

  • Revenue surged 55% year-over-year, driven by a 145% increase in the infrastructure segment, led by optical data center products.
  • Company returned to positive GAAP EPS at $0.02, signaling improved profitability in the quarter.
  • Infrastructure now largest revenue category, with third-quarter non-GAAP gross margin guidance set at 60% midpoint, indicating margin pressure relative to recent quarters.
  • Raised 2026 optical data center revenue guidance to $210–230 million, but investors likely skeptical about full-year margin expansion and cautious on non-GAAP profitability growth beyond Q3.
  • Early-stage initiatives in AI infrastructure and broadband showed promise but remain nascent revenue contributors, with meaningful volume ramps projected in 2027 and beyond.
