Freetrade Freetrade Import Guide

How to Import Freetrade Trades into AllInvestView

Follow these simple steps to export your Freetrade trading history and import it into AllInvestView for comprehensive portfolio tracking, tax reporting, and analytics.

Step 1: Export Your Freetrade Trading History

  1. Open the Freetrade app and go to the Activity tab (or Profile → Documents on newer builds).
  2. Tap Export / Request statement to generate a full transaction history — Freetrade emails it to you.
  3. Wait for the email (usually minutes, sometimes a few hours) and download the CSV attachment.
  4. Request one export per account (ISA, GIA, SIPP) and upload each CSV to AllInvestView.

Which export to pick: Freetrade delivers the export by email rather than an instant download. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive, and export each tax wrapper (ISA, GIA, SIPP) separately.

What each column means

  • Type"ORDER" for buys/sells, "DIVIDEND" for income, plus "TOP_UP" / "WITHDRAWAL" for cash.
  • Price per Share in Account CurrencyAlready converted to GBP, so no FX maths is needed on your side.
  • ISINFreetrade includes the ISIN, giving the importer an exact instrument match.

Step 2: Import into AllInvestView

  1. Go to AllInvestView Import Tool (or click Import from your dashboard)
  2. Drag and drop your Freetrade CSV file, or click to browse
  3. AllInvestView automatically detects the Freetrade format and maps all columns
  4. Review the imported trades and confirm — your Freetrade portfolio is now tracked!

What Happens After You Upload

You never import blind. After AllInvestView detects the Freetrade format, it shows a review screen where every row is grouped, editable and confirmed by you before anything is saved:

Trades Dividends Cash Options
  • GroupedRows are sorted into buys/sells, dividends, cash movements and options so you can see exactly what will be booked.
  • EditableFix a currency, quantity or date inline before confirming — nothing is written until you approve the batch.
  • De-duplicatedRe-upload an overlapping export and AllInvestView skips rows it has already imported, so you can safely import year-by-year files without creating duplicate trades.

Freetrade Gotchas & How We Handle Them

Auto-handled Check on review Needs your action

Email delivery delay

Needs your action

The export arrives by email, not as an instant download. Give it a few minutes and check spam.

UK pence vs pounds

Auto-handled

UK shares can be quoted in pence (GBX). The importer folds pence to pounds exactly once, so a £2.56 share is never booked as £256.

Separate export per wrapper

Needs your action

ISA, GIA and SIPP export separately. Import each into its own portfolio to keep tax wrappers clean.
