The gap

What your broker leaves to you

Your broker is built for trading. The return, the tax figure and the view across accounts are what you get here.

The Freetrade account records holdings, but leaves your UK tax figure and account-wide return to you.

Choose any start and end date. The dashboard recalculates capital gain, IRR and dividend yield for that period.

Freetrade statements cover Stocks and ETFs in GBP and EUR for Individual and SIPP. They do not compare tax lots under several cost-basis methods.

The tax report calculates gains with FIFO, LIFO, HIFO or average cost.

Freetrade keeps Individual and SIPP among its 3 account types with Stocks and ETFs in GBP and EUR. Holdings at another broker are outside that total.

Add the other accounts. The combined view totals them while keeping each account separate.

Review every row before you import it

A Freetrade portfolio is usually a straightforward mix of UK shares and overseas ETFs.

The report totals gross, withheld and net dividend income. It also shows payment history by company and a 12-month forecast.

Getting your Freetrade history in

1

Export from Freetrade

Open Profile > Settings > Export Data in Freetrade. Download the transaction CSV and upload it to AllInvestView.

2

Upload it

The importer reads the column layout on its own, identifies the securities and shows you every row before anything is saved.

Prices update daily, and dividends, corporate actions and splits are applied to the history you just brought in. Nothing else to keep up to date by hand.

Questions

Freetrade and AllInvestView, answered

How do I import my Freetrade transactions into AllInvestView?
Export the transaction history as CSV and upload it. The review screen shows the mapped rows before anything is added.
Can AllInvestView track my Freetrade ISA and SIPP separately?
Add each account separately. The combined view totals them while the account filters keep their results apart.
Is the Freetrade connection read only, and is it an aggregator?
There is no automatic connection for Freetrade yet. You export your transaction history and upload the file, so nothing of yours is ever logged into.
Does it show my options with Greeks?
Freetrade does not offer options, so there is nothing to read here from this account. If you trade options at another broker, add that account and the options dashboard covers it: delta, gamma, theta, vega and rho per position.
Which cost basis methods can I choose?
FIFO, LIFO, HIFO and average cost. You pick the method on the tax report and the whole report is recalculated, so you can see what each one would cost you before you sell.
How are several currencies handled?
Each position keeps the currency it was bought in. The portfolio is then valued in the base currency you choose, using the rate for the day, so the currency move is part of the return you read.
Can I bring years of history from a file?
Yes. Export the full transaction history from Freetrade and upload it. The importer reads the column layout, identifies the securities and shows every row for review before anything is saved, so your cost basis and your returns start from the complete record rather than from today.
What does the free plan cover?
One portfolio and 10 stock holdings, with no card. Bonds, options and custom assets are not counted against that. Broker sync, more portfolios and more holdings are on the paid plans.
