Portfolio tracking, analysis and tax reports
Your portfolio history stays exportable while you examine company exposure across funds and work out capital gains from the trades behind it.
Our take: Everything a Ghostfolio user runs the software for stays intact here: a record that exports whenever you ask, no ads, nothing sold on, read-only broker links, and an account you can delete yourself. We also run the price feed, upgrades and backups for you. The account includes priced bonds, options with Greeks and tax reports for 17 jurisdictions. A real person can help when a number is wrong. Ghostfolio still gives you your own hardware and sign-up without an email address.
Ghostfolio X-ray is a set of portfolio-level risk rules. Its fund breakdown is a separate By ETF Holding view, experimental since v2.86.0, reaching US domiciled ETFs per discussion #4192.
Portfolio X-Ray combines direct shares and fund holdings into one row per company. It shows total exposure, portfolio weight, direct ownership, fund ownership and the funds involved. One company held through four index funds appears as one combined figure.
AllInvestView
Instrument currency, type, name and price are cross-checked before a correction reaches the portfolio. Splits and corporate actions are applied centrally.
Incorrect values and missing instruments can be reported with their evidence. A verified correction then reaches every portfolio holding that instrument.
AllInvestView
Ghostfolio does not calculate capital gains or produce a jurisdiction tax report. In AllInvestView, seventeen jurisdictions arrive with capital gains rule templates, covering Germany, Ireland and Switzerland, the Nordic three, and every large English-speaking system.
It uses tax-year presets and breaks each lot into its buy, sell, cost basis and proceeds. Currency movement is shown separately. The report exports to PDF, Excel or CSV. It compares average cost, HIFO, LIFO and FIFO, with estimated tax for each. Spanish residents also get Modelo 720.

AllInvestView
A real person answers, and if you ask for it, someone who knows your account helps you reconcile your history, import an awkward file, or check a figure for your tax return. Trustpilot has us at 4.5 across 26 reviews.
See how support worksYourself, without asking anyone. Holdings export to a spreadsheet, Portfolio X-Ray writes one CSV row per company, and tax reports download as PDF, Excel or CSV. Account deletion becomes permanent after 30 days.
Self-hosting is free with no cap on transactions or accounts, and a free hosted tier exists that needs no server at all. Ghostfolio Premium costs 48 dollars a year and buys maintained market prices, the portfolio summary, benchmarks, the FIRE calculator and email and chat support. Calling it free-only understates it.
Yes. Direct broker sync covers US, European, UK, Australian, Canadian and Indian brokers plus Kraken, Binance and Coinbase, refreshable on demand. Ghostfolio ships no first party brokerage integration: its maintainers suggest scripting your own connector, and sidecars such as GhostfolioSidekick are unofficial.
Native apps on the App Store and Google Play, same account and data as the web. Ghostfolio's self-hosting FAQ says there is no store app. It suggests adding the web app to your home screen. The Play listing is a Trusted Web Activity wrapper, and the native iOS client is third party.
We store the records on our infrastructure rather than your hardware. In return, we maintain the price feed and apply corporate actions. You also get reviewed instrument data, capital gains reports by jurisdiction and a real person who can check a wrong figure.
It covers one portfolio and 10 holdings, and that count is stock positions only, so a full bond ladder or options book loads without consuming any of it. The assistant works on the free tier too. Broker sync, Portfolio X-Ray and advanced analytics are what the paid plans add.
Ghostfolio is the better answer when the records must physically never leave hardware you control, with your own price-feed credentials. Registering with no email address at all is the other thing only it offers, through its token based anonymous accounts. The Ghostfolio vs AllInvestView comparison covers the self-hosting maintenance question in full.
