The gap

What your broker leaves to you

Your broker is built for trading. The return, the tax figure and the view across accounts are what you get here.

Coinbase keeps Individual and Prime (Institutional) with Crypto in USD and GBP. Holdings at another broker are outside that total.

Add the other accounts. The combined view totals them while keeping each account separate.

Coinbase statements cover Crypto in USD and GBP for Individual and Prime (Institutional). They do not compare tax lots under several cost-basis methods.

The tax report calculates gains with FIFO, LIFO, HIFO or average cost.

The Coinbase account records crypto activity, but your combined cost basis and tax result still need work.

Choose any start and end date. The dashboard recalculates capital gain, IRR and dividend yield for that period.

Moving crypto in or out of Coinbase does not remove the need to carry its cost basis.

Choose FIFO, LIFO, HIFO or average cost. The report shows realized gains, unrealized gains, dividends and estimated tax.

Questions

Coinbase and AllInvestView, answered

Can I automatically sync my Coinbase account with AllInvestView?
The read-only connection is direct, not an aggregator. It imports positions and trades but cannot place orders or move money.
Does AllInvestView support tracking crypto staking rewards from Coinbase?
Record each reward as income with its date and value. It then stays with the holding and its tax history.
Is the Coinbase connection read only, and is it an aggregator?
The connection to Coinbase is read only. It can see positions and transactions, and it can never place an order or move money. It is a direct broker connection, not a service that logs in with your password on your behalf. Broker sync is part of the paid plans. On the free plan you import a file instead.
Does it show my options with Greeks?
Coinbase does not offer options, so there is nothing to read here from this account. If you trade options at another broker, add that account and the options dashboard covers it: delta, gamma, theta, vega and rho per position.
Which cost basis methods can I choose?
FIFO, LIFO, HIFO and average cost. You pick the method on the tax report and the whole report is recalculated, so you can see what each one would cost you before you sell.
How are several currencies handled?
Each position keeps the currency it was bought in. The portfolio is then valued in the base currency you choose, using the rate for the day, so the currency move is part of the return you read.
Can I bring years of history from a file?
Yes. Export the full transaction history from Coinbase and upload it. The importer reads the column layout, identifies the securities and shows every row for review before anything is saved, so your cost basis and your returns start from the complete record rather than from today.
What does the free plan cover?
One portfolio and 10 stock holdings, with no card. Bonds, options and custom assets are not counted against that. Broker sync, more portfolios and more holdings are on the paid plans.
